Dear Parents, Friends and Caregivers,

Welcome to the 2019 school year. I hope that you enjoyed the holiday break and had the opportunity to relax and spend time with family and friends. I am very happy to be continuing as Principal for 2019 and am looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

Dear Families,

We have had a great start to the year, and we look forward to our Mass tomorrow where we will officially welcome our new students and families to our school and parish community.  As part of the Welcoming Mass, our parish priest Fr Peter will also offer a commissioning blessing to all staff, School Board and Parents and Friend’s representatives who are able to be present. 

I would like to welcome the new families to the Tenison Woods Catholic School community and a welcome back to all of our existing families. At Tenison Woods we have a strong focus and emphasis on ensuring all students have high levels of personal wellbeing and feel valued and connected within the school. As a school we use the principles of Visible Wellbeing and Positive Education to enhance the wellbeing of the students, staff and wider community.

This year Tension Woods Catholic School begins a three-year journey with Corwin Australia to develop a culture of ‘Visible Learning’ throughout our school community.
Visible learning means that students are agents of their own learning, following a progression of learning outcomes. Students know where they are in their learning, what they need to know next, to progress, and how to get there. 

Welcome to 2019! I would like to welcome all new families to Tenison Woods Catholic School. My role as Sports Coordinator involves organising after school sport and supporting Matthew Harrison with the organisation of sporting carnivals throughout the year. 

To begin the year, the Year 2/3 class has been focusing on Visible Learning and Visible Wellbeing which will set us up mentally for the rest of the year. We looked at the Learning Pit, Growth Mindsets, and Character Strengths to help us in our learning journey.

Welcome to another school year. It was great to see so many parents at the Schnithouse Wednesday morning after dropping of their child(ren). It was nice to meet many of our new parents in a relaxed atmosphere.

Tenison Woods Catholic School is excited to offer the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program to all students.

School Banking is a fun, interactive and engaging way for young Australians to learn about money and develop good savings habits. Children who deposit money into their Youthsaver account through School Banking earn Dollarmites tokens, which they can save up and redeem for exciting rewards.
