Dear TWCS Families,

Dear Families,

I would like to warmly welcome everyone back to Term 3, especially those who are new to our community. At Tenison Woods Catholic School we share a strong connection with the Brooklyn Park and Richmond Parish and parish priest Fr Peter Zwanns. As part of this connection, we offer class Masses (Reception -Year 6) on most weeks as well as a Parish Based Sacramental Program (Years 3-6). 

What's the Buzz?

What's the Buzz? is part of a global response stimulated by the positive psychology and positive education movements. The program precisely guides educators to teach young people new prosocial skills to develop emotional and social intelligence.

Corwin Visible Learning

This term the focus for our Visible Learning Project is presenting the students with Learning Intentions and Success Criteria for learning activities in all Literacy and Numeracy lessons across all year levels.

SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival

On Wednesday 7th of August we will be sending approximately 35 students to the SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival that is taking place in the east parklands in the city. The students will complete a 2km race across a variety of terrain including a creek crossing. I wish the students the very best and I look forward to sharing the results from this carnival in our next newsletter.

A strong theme this year has been to focus on Visible Well-being.

This term we have begun our 'What’s the Buzz' program which builds on our work on social skills. 

Hello TWCS families,

We hope you were able to spend some quality time with your family over the school holiday. 

Children’s book week is being celebrated in Weeks 4 and 5 of this term with whole school and classroom-based activities which engage our students with Literature. 

To celebrate book week we will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair which will be open for sales before and after school in week 5 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

We are calling for volunteers in our Library to cover new library books. If you are a registered volunteer and wish to be involved with TWCS please contact Anna Pivato. We thank all our volunteers for supporting TWCS.
