Newsletter Term 4 Week 4 2019

Dear TWCS Families, 

Last Friday we gathered as a community to celebrate Mass for All Saints. Fr Peter reminded us that the official teaching of the Catholic Church recognises a saint as a disciple who has lived a life of exemplary faithfulness to God. Originally, only martyrs, those who died defending the Christian faith were honoured as saints and recommended for recognition and respect among ordinary Christians. 

Dear Families,

On Monday, at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, we pause for a minute’s silence to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18).  We remember those who fought for our freedom and peace and we pray for peace in our world, our school, our homes and our hearts.

School Camps and Student Wellbeing

With the Reception and Year 1 students just having their sleepover last Friday night and the Year 4 and 5 students heading to school camp this week I have included an excellent article that outlines the benefits of school camps in relation to student wellbeing.

Cricket Blast

The Term 4 Cricket Blast season continues to roll along with the Tenison Woods team which consists of students from Reception to Year 2 continuing to improve each week. Last weekend would have been a real effort for some of the players as they headed straight from the school sleepover to their cricket game. 

It has been a very busy few weeks in Reception N. With the weather becoming warmer, we have been utilising our outdoor learning space. 

Congratulations to all the recepients of a Principal Award presented at this week's assembly.

Hello TWCS families,

Well, another wine drive has come to an end.  We once again had a fantastic response and so many families took the opportunity to stock up for the Christmas period. Thank you very much to everyone who purchased wines, we raised just over $2500. This event could not have been possible without the volunteering efforts from Kirsty Miller and Jess Rainsford. Thank you very much ladies!!

We ask all families to ensure that food sent to school with your children does not contain nuts as this can cause a severe allergic reaction to some students within our community. We thank you for your support.
