Newsletter Term 2 Week 10 2020

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We have come to the end of Term 2. It has certainly been a very different and interesting term for everybody. We began with the whole COVID-19 situation, requiring 'flexible learning', and a new Principal arrived at short notice. We then had a gradual return of students to school and a change back to face to face teaching. Along with all of this we asked parents to drop off and pick up at the gate and sadly we were unable to have visitors or music tutors in our school. Classes have been unable to go on excursions, attend sporting events or participate in class Masses or whole school liturgies or assemblies. 

Stewardship Reflection

“…whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.”  MATTHEW 10:38 Pope Benedict XVI said “The world offers you comfort.  But you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness”.  “Comfort” puts me first.  Picking up your cross and following Jesus puts God and others first.  Why settle for comfort when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your cross, ask Jesus for guidance when using your gifts and live the life God intended for you!  We pray that we use our gifts in the way that God intended.

The Character Strength for June was Gratitude

Gratitude is about appreciating what is good in life. In the research, gratitude is defined as thankfulness or feelings of appreciation that result from perceived fortune or the kindness of others. Gratitude is one of the 24 character strengths in the VIA Signature Strengths survey. Of the 24 strengths, it is one of the strengths most strongly associated with high life satisfaction. Individuals high in dispositional gratitude have a tendency to notice and appreciate good outcomes in the world.

School Sport Update

As COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease across the state and a very clear road map for the return of school and community sport, many of the different sporting associations have begun planning for a shortened season beginning next term. 

It is hard to believe we have reached the end of Term 2 already. In R/1 Gold this term, we have been busy as beavers.

Hello TWCS families,

Our Father's Day Stall will be held on 4 September and we will be calling for volunteers to assist with wrapping on Wednesday 2 September and also managing the stall on the 4th.

School banking will recommence on Tuesday 28 July. 

The Cove Marion WFC welcomes all Cove and Non – Cove players (girls) from under 11s to under 17s to join our programs and experience what our club has to offer. This is also a great way to receive specialist coaching in small groups.

Junior School Holiday Clinics are available for all players aged under 11s to under 17s and are based at Sturt Marion 262 Sturt Road, Marion The next holiday clinics will be held as follows:

Term 2 Holidays
Wednesday 15th, Thursday 16th and Friday 17th July

From 9am to 2pm each day

Pricing :-  3 Days $80, 2 Days $55 and 1 Day $30
