Newsletter Term 3 Week 10 2020

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

This week you would have received communication from the Director of Catholic Education, Dr Neil McGoran, announcing the appointment of Mr Mark Battistella to the position of School Performance Leader at the Catholic Education Office. This is a 'substantive' position for the next four years and means that Mark will not be returning to Tenison Woods. As you would be aware, I have been asked to stay on for the 2021 school year and look forward to continuing our journey together in supporting your children to be the best that they can be. I feel blessed to be a part of this community. I would think that during 2021 the usual process for the appointment of a new principal will be undertaken. This process normally involves a community consultation, advertising the position, interviewing shortlisted applicants and appointing the successful person. We look forward to being able to farewell Mark from our community at some stage during Term 4.

Tenison Woods Catholic School Wellbeing and Engagement Collection 2020 Report

At the end of Term 1 the students in Year 4-6 undertook the Government of South Australia Engagement and Wellbeing Collection Survey. This survey is designed to measure the wellbeing and engagement of middle years students across the state. 

During the second week of Term 4 our Corwin Partners will be coming to guide us through our second Evidence into Action learning cycle.

Sporting Schools Athletics Clinics:

Tenison Woods Catholic School was successful in its application to receive a Sporting Schools grant from the federal government. This funding is being used to facilitate a four week athletics program for all classes. These clinics began in Week 7 and concluded this week. 

The R/1 & 3/4 neighbourhoods have moved into their new learning spaces. 

Congratulations to all the recepients of a Principal Award presented at last week's assembly.

The theme for this year’s Book Week is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’
It will be held in Term 4 Week 2.

BOOK WEEK  PARADE

Our Book Week Parade will be held in the courtyard at 9.00am on Wednesday 21st October.
