Newsletter Term 3 Week 2 2021

As we embark on the beginning of second semester, we have been hit by one big challenge - lockdown. Being the end of school holidays and the first day back at school we were all so excited to be returning to catch up with our friends. However, with news of lockdown, we needed to quickly change the picture in our head of how to connect with each other in a positive way.  Courtney and Mr Atyeo got straight to it organising online learning to enable us to engage and interactive with each other ensuring that the learning needs of all students, the Australian Curriculum and having fun were being met.

Hi TWCS Families, 

Unfortunately, due to Covid, our Parents Night Out has been placed on hold. We will look at holding the event once restrictions ease later in the year. 

It is wine fundraiser again! A digital form will be sent out in the coming week, with the wine selection and prices. Digital order forms can be emailed to the P&F email or orders can be made via Qkr! Just in time to replenish stock after lockdown! 

We have secured a date for a Bunnings BBQ on Sunday 22nd August. We will require volunteers for the preparation and serving/cooking on the day. I will send out a call for volunteers closer to the date, but if you do have availability please pencil it in your diary.

Due to current Covid restrictions in South Australia there will be no school sport or training taking place this week and weekend. We await further directions from the SA Government and SA Health is regards to the resumption of school sport and training. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this area and I will communicate any changes in this situation as they are announced.

SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival

I would like to inform you that due to the new update from the Catholic Education Office along with Health SA regarding sport carnivals the 2021 SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival that was to be held next Thursday 5^th August will need to be postponed. At this stage there is no confirmed date of when the carnival will proceed but we will be sure to let everyone know once we have heard from SACPSSA.

We understand the effort and commitment that the students have contributed so far and we wish to continue to train as a squad to maintain our level of fitness. Training will recommence next Thursday at 8.15am in the hope the carnival can be rescheduled in the near future.

A big warm welcome to all our families. We have had a great start to the year already and it’s exciting to look forward to what’s ahead of us! We have been doing activities inside and outside according to the children’s interest and their needs.

• Nature playground – sandpit and physical games
