SACPSSA Athletics Carnival

On Wednesday 4th of November, 25 students from Year 3-5 competed in the SACPSSA Athletics Carnival at SA Athletics Stadium. Each of the students competed in a variety of different events against 8 other Catholic Schools around the state. It was fantastic to see each of the athletes trying their very best in each of their specific events. The school spirit was clear to see as the students cheered on each of our competitors in their events. I would like to thank two of our pre-service teachers Giselle and Jack for attending and helping with the supervision of the students.

Below are some of the individual achievements from the carnival:

• Seth Viergever: 3rd Place 800m
• William Ramazan: 1st Place 100m, 4th Place Long Jump, 2nd Place High Jump, 3rd Place 400m
• Khloe Burns: 3rd Place High Jump

• Angelina Flavel: 4th Place 800m, 2nd Place 100m Div C and 3rd Place 400m
• Lulu Arentz: 2nd Place High Jump, 4th Place 100m Div A and 2nd Place 200m Div A
• Dion Papazaharias: 1st Place 100m, 1st Place Long Jump, 3rd Place 400m and 3rd Place 200m Div A.
• Abby Wearn: 1st Place 100m Div B, 2nd Place Long Jump and 3rd Place 200m Div B

• Antonio Arcadi: 2nd Place 60m Hurdles
• Costa Loizos: 1st Place 800m and 4th Place 200m Div B
• Archie Leigh: 3rd Place Shot Put

A special mention must be made of William Ramazan who won the Year 3 Boys Age Champion medal and Dion Papazaharias who won the Year 4 Boys Age Champion. Well done to both of these boys on winning this award as recognition of their individual achievements at the carnival.
