Stewardship Thought

“Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.” - 1 JOHN 3:18

Regarding our Catholic faith, do you “walk the talk?” Do your actions reflect what it means to be a good disciple? Are you an active participant in your faith? Are you joyful when participating in parish ministry? Do you give gratefully and generously to Vinnies or Catholic Mission? It is not too late to start! We pray that are daily actions reflect our goal of good discipleship.

Sacramental Program - Preparation for Confirmation.

If your child has celebrated Reconciliation and is ready to confirm their place as a Catholic - then they are invited to begin preparation sessions on Wednesday 28th July - St John Bosco School Library at 6:30pm. There will be 4 sessions with the celebration booked for Thursday 19th August at 7pm.

Visit from Caritas Australia

Tracey Tressitore from Caritas Australia visited and spoke to the SRC regarding the work of Project Compassion.  TWCS then passed on our donation of $1524 which was raised through the Caritas Carnival. Tracey explained that St Bishop Oscar Romero (a patron saint for Caritas) says three things that every human desires: 1. to be known by name, 2. by story and 3. to be able to contribute. She went on to say how Caritas is very much about empowering people to help themselves.  We are encouraged to do the same at TWCS.  That is why our contributions to Catholic Missions, Catholic Charities and Caritas continue each year.  It was such a thrill for the children to know how their contribution helped others and made a difference in their lives.

Support for India in this time of uncertainty

India is struggling to control a massive surge in COVID-19 cases, with a death toll over 200,000. Yet the real death rate is likely much higher, as most deaths in the country are unregistered. Cities across India are struggling to manage a chronic shortage of hospital beds. Several major cities have nearly run out of hospital beds altogether, especially in ICU departments. Places of worship, sports complexes and even railway coaches have been converted into makeshift hospitals in order to keep up with the demand. Your donation today can support communities across Asia impacted by disasters. Visit https://www.caritas.org.au/donate/emergency-appeals/asia-regional-appeal/
