SACPSSA Netball Carnival and Sport Schools Netball Clinics:

Throughout this term, the students in Years 3 to 6 will be familiarising themselves and learning the rules, skills, movements and strategies associated with netball, in preparation for a Physical Education excursion to a SACPSSA Netball Carnival in week 10. At this carnival we will have 11 teams across the four year levels competing against students from a variety of different Catholic schools across South Australia.

To support the students in their skill development and game awareness and in preparation for the carnival the school has been successful in securing a Sporting Schools Grant to fund a qualified Netball SA coach facilitating netball clinics for all students from Reception to Year 6. The students will participate in 4 clinics over a 4 week period beginning in Week 7 of this term.

We look forward to sharing with you more from the netball clinics and the SACPSSA Netball Carnival later in the term.

SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival

On Thursday 5th of August (Term 3 Week 3) the SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival will be taking place in the East Parklands. This event sees students in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 challenge themselves over a 2km course. The event hosts approximately 60 schools and around 2500 students each year.

In preparation for the carnival, and to enable a cross country squad to be selected, we will be holding cross country training each week on a Thursday at 8.15am on the school oval beginning in Week 6. A letter containing all of the information about training and the carnival will be distributed next week. In the meantime, if your child is interested in attending the carnival, get them running. Every run will help them build up to the carnival next term. Please see below the great video SACPSSA created from the 2019 SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival.
