Stewardship Reflection

I wonder…who is Joseph for you?

Year of Joseph Dec 8th 2020 - Dec 8th 2021

In his letter, Pope Francis describes Joseph as: A father who is tender and loving, obedient, accepting and creatively courageous. He also describes him as a worker and as a person in the shadows. Pope Francis tells us that ‘Joseph found happiness not in mere self-sacrifice but in self-gift’. I wonder who Joseph is for each of us? I wonder how we can live these qualities as parents

200 years of Catholic Education

On Monday 24th May our school representatives joined over 400 Catholic school children at St Francis Xavier's Cathedral.

Why? To acknowledge 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia.

Two hundred years ago, Fr John Therry answered the call to educate the youth of Parramatta. From that small beginning of 31 students began a great work that now spans 1,755 schools, 100,000 staff and 777,000 school students.

On this anniversary, we remember all who have been part of this heritage, including Fr Therry and Australia’s first saint, Mary of the Cross. We recall on this anniversary, the faith and community that has enabled Catholic Education to make this significant contribution to our national life.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Congratulations to the children who celebrated their Reconciliation on June 2nd at St Aloysius Church.

James J, Jaxson, Alyssa, Caden and Leo M joined with the children from St John Bosco School and the parish to learn and understand their faith more fully.  This is the second Sacrament of Initiation which follows Baptism and finishes with Confirmation.

New Resources

Our staff are always sourcing new and interesting books to complement their teaching and to engage the children in their learning.  In the gallery below check out the latest RE books on the shelf.  They open up great conversation.
