Soccer and Netball

We are now heading into the 5th round of school soccer and from all reports the soccer players and their families are thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to play school soccer again. This year we have four soccer teams including an U/6,  U/7,  U/8 and U/10 team competing in the North West Junior Soccer Association. We have a total of 40 players playing across these four teams. I would like to thank the following coaches/managers Kirsty Miller, Brad de Vries, Alison Pirone, Kath D'Aloia and Justin Storr for volunteering their time for the teams. I would also like to thank the following people Anthony Morgan, Catherine Rowe, David Jucha, Erin Sneath, Genevieve Pelekani, James Wells, Jane O'Donoghue, Katie Collis, Kirsty Miller and Micki Wells for registering and volunteering to be Covid Marshals at the school soccer games.

The three school netball teams have completed 4 rounds of their season and have overall been quite successful and showing improvement during each game. After regrading we have our Year 5/6 team in division 2 for the Friday afternoon competition and the Year 4/5 team in division 3 also for the Friday afternoon competition. Our Year 3 team are competing in the E2 Blue Saturday morning competition. Across the three teams we have 26 players representing our school each week. I would like to thank Bernice Arentz who is coaching both the Year 5/6 team as well as the Year 3 team. I would also like to thank Michelle Mellar who is coaching the Year 4/5 team. I would like to thank Rita Campbell and Bernice Arentz who have kindly stepped in to umpire our home netball games.

Parent Volunteers

School sport is highly dependent upon the willingness of parents to volunteer their time and energy to either coach, manage or umpire sports. Without these volunteers school sport would not be possible so once again I would like to thank the parent volunteers I have listed above and for any others I may have missed and those who have volunteered their time in other sports. If you are not yet a registered volunteer with the school I encourage you to register because the more volunteers we have the more sporting opportunities we can offer your child and we can share the load of volunteering for school sport.

I would also like to thank the parents for the time and effort they put into their child in taking them to games and training. This ongoing support from parents is so vital in supporting the volunteer coaches and their own child in having a positive and enjoyable sporting experience.
