SACPSSA Netball Carnival

On Tuesday 29th June all the students from Year 3 to 6 attended the SACPSSA Netball Carnival as the culmination of their learning in PE over last term. The students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and determination in all of the games they played. It was great to see the students apply the learning from PE into game situations throughout the carnival. The students displayed the Character Strengths of Teamwork, Zest, Fairness, Leadership, Bravery and Perseverance. For many students attending the carnival and playing games of netball put them out of their comfort zone so many students consistently displayed a Growth Mindset.

Thank you to Erin Sneath, Natasha Storr, Michelle Mellar, Lori and Vinny Maresca for volunteering their time to coach/manage a team on the day. Thank you also to Gina Margush, Heather Docherty, Linda Wooley and Rosemary Ioakim for their efforts with each of their teams.

School Netball and Soccer

As we come to school holidays and the sports break until next term, I would like to congratulate all of the players on an amazing first half of the season. From all reports the Tenison Woods students are displaying fantastic sportsmanship and always trying their best. A thank you must also go to the families who have continued to support their child be successful and have fun in school sport.

Just a few reminders in relation to after school sport as we head into the holidays and Term 3:

  • Please ensure that if your child is unavailable to play that you notify the team coach with as much notice as possible.

  • Please ensure you arrive at the game with ample time for your child to warm up and for the coach to organise their players.

  • If your child is unwell please ensure to comply with the Covid-19 guidelines and keep your child home and notify your child's coach.

  • Also please ensure that there is no sharing of drink bottles or half time snacks and treats.

  • Also parents please comply with the various schools and venue guidelines of social distancing when viewing your child playing.

I thank you for your support in these requests as it will allow us to continue to provide school sport for the children in a safe manner.
